Description
Penicillin V is a hydrophobic β-lactam antibiotic that displays antibacterial efficacy against gram positive bacteria. Penicillin V is less active than penicillin G against gram negative bacteria but exhibits better oral absorption kinetics. Penicillin V inhibits cell wall synthesis and does not display effective inhibition of β-lactamase-producing bacteria.
